Jason Williams of Berryville has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Berryville.  In a press released issued Tuesday, July 27, Williams had the following to say regarding his decision to run for Berryville Mayor. 

I own Williams Properties Real Estate in Berryville, with my wife Carolyn.  We attend Towering Oaks Church where I am an usher.  I am 35 years old and have lived here my whole life.  I am a graduate of Berryville High School.  I attended North Arkansas College in Harrison par-time while working as an assistant manager for Harp’s/Price Cutter.

I then accepted a position as a Sales Merchandiser for Great Plains Coca Cola where I worked for 7 years full time, while working part time as a real estate agent.  In 2003, I was given the opportunity to purchase Pendleton & Associates Real Estate keeping the name for a few years before changing it to Williams Properties Real Estate.

I currently serve on the Berryville Planning & Zoning Commission, and on the Cornerstone Bank Berryville Board of Directors.   I am a past-President of the Berryville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and I am a member of Kiwanis in Berryville.  I enjoy working with the Planning Commission to affect positive change that will help Berryville better handle its growth and prepare for the futures.

I think the most important characteristic in a leader is Honesty and Integrity.  These characteristics are what you need to earn the respect of the people you serve and work with.  I strive to b e a man that is respected by others in my business as well s my personal life.

I feel that Berryville has a dedicated group of people from the city council, its employees and department heads, that work hard every day to conduct the business of running our town, and I would be honored to serve the people of my home town along with them.

We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful area and to live in a friendly town like Berryville.  I very much hope that you will consider me for the position of Berryville Mayor.
