Miss Carroll County Sponsors Sought

Sponsors are needed for the Miss Carroll County Contest, Wednesday, September 1.  Last year, the Fair Board tried something new.  Different businesses around the county were asked to sponsor a contestant to represent their company.  It's great advertising for the business, and the girls  honored. The Miss Carroll County pageant brings a huge crowd to the fairgrounds.  Girls do not have to wear swimsuits and the winner receives a $500 scholarship and a paid trip to the Miss Arkansas contest.  The format is being changed to be a fun evening for the girls and their families.  The age limit is 16-21 for the senior division and the they cannot have been married or had a child.  For more information on sponsorship, call the Extension Office at 423-2958.  Entry forms can be found on the top front page of kthsradio.com, Local News.

Get Registered Today for the Carroll County Fair

Come by the County Extension Office to get your exhibitor number to enter items in the educational department and to register your group for a fair booth.  They are located in the USDA Service Center at 909-B Freeman Switch Road in Berryville, or you can call 870-423-2958.  Educational exhibits will be entered on Monday, August 30, from noon - 7:30pm.  Anyone wishing to sponsor prizes in any department will be greatly appreciated.

Register Fair Animals by August 16, to Guarantee Pen Space

Youth who are planning to participate with their livestock projects are encouraged to register their animals by calling the County Extension Office by Monday, August 16.  The telephone number is 870-423-2958.  Remember all animals to be exhibited in any department must be owned at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the fair.  For more information call the Extension Office.
