Eureka Springs radio station KESA has made an offer to the
Eureka Springs School District. They will cover Eureka Springs Highlander sports on their station if they are given a contract that gives them "exclusive rights" to cover Eureka Springs Highlander athletics.

In exchange for their covering the basketball schedule, no other radio broadcast outlet, including KTHS, would be allowed to broadcast Eureka Springs games. This proposal was originally presented at a meeting in May, but it had been tabled while the board got more information. According to Eureka Springs School Board member Tom Freehling, the proposal was tabled again at the last meeting, and should be discussed again in their regular meeting scheduled for August 20th .

KTHS has requested a meeting with Eureka Springs Schools Superintendent Wayne Carr to get more information on the proposal.

KTHS should offer to broadcast the games plus the Eureka Springs City Council meetings for those with no access to cable.
