UPDATE: Tyler and Hodge Win National Team Roping
Update: Congratulations! They did it! Worley and Hodge competed July 18-24 in Gillette, Wyoming in the National High School Finals Rodeo. They took first place in Team Roping with a time of 24.151.
July 09, 2010 Tyler Worley, a 12th grade student, and Dustin Hodge, a 2010 graduate, both of Berryville High School, have earned a position on the Arkansas State High School Rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Gillette, Wy., July 18th-24th, to compete at the 62nd Annual National High School Finals Rodeo in the Team Roping competition.Tyler and Dustin joined the AHSRA in January and finished s the 3rd ranked team in the state which qualified them for the National Finals.
Featuring over 1,500 contestants from 41 states, five Canadian Provinces, and Australia, the National High School Finals is the world’s largest rodeo.In addition to competing for over $200,000 in prizes, NHSFR contestants will also be vying for more than $350,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the National High School Rodeo Champion.To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top twenty after two go-rounds of intense competition before advancing to Saturday night’s final championship performance.
