Art Hits High Note At Opera of the Ozarks
The 2nd Annual Art In Opera Group Show is taking place concurrently with performances at Opera In the Ozarks 60th anniversary season at Inspiration Point, June 18 - July 16, and at the City Auditorium July 17. The show will feature oil and acrylic paintings, pencil drawings, watercolor, photography, textile art, fine art photography and jewelry.
The 88 art pieces in the show by 31 local artists are in the themes of this season's opera performances of Carmen, Tosca and Don Giovanni. Opera and music themed paintings are also included in the selection. Original stained glass artist Whitney Capps also displays an original glass piece reminiscent of Mucha, a popular artist in the time of Puccini's Tosca, titled O Scarpia, avanti a dio!
In addition to Whitney, leading area artists in the group show include Rebecca J.
