The Green Forest City Council will meet Monday, March 08, at 7pm for their regular monthly council meeting.
At last weeks agenda setting meeting, newly elected Mayor Charlie Reece, tried to outline to some alderman what comes under their scope and what doesn’t. The city council has long had a reputation of “micro-managing” city business in areas that other comparable cities around leave to department heads. Some Green Forest council meetings, in the past, have been strung out for many hours with executive sessions discussing personnel matters and step-raises, that are normally left to department heads to deal with. Mayor Reece has been keeping regular 40 hour weeks-plus since his election.
On the agenda for tonight, Buddy Fry, Public Works Director, will have a list of streets that need fixing. Mayor Reece may have a spring cleanup date or two to announce, and there will be discussion of Fire Chief Bill Doyle’s resignation and a replacement, and a part-time building inspector position.
The Council meets in City Hall.
