A Berryville teenager was arrested within minutes of allegedly burglarizing the Medicine Chest, near St. John’s late Sunday.

According to Detective Robert Bartos with the Berryville Police Department, Officer Greg Noftsger was on another call in the area of the Medicine Chest Sunday night, about 10:30, when he heard a commercial burglar alarm activate nearby.   

Noftsger made his way toward the Medicine Chest and saw a young man walking away from the area.  Noftsger stopped the youth to question his presence in the area.  The 18 year old, Perry Goldsmith of Berryville, was in possession of prescription drugs and was placed under arrest. 

Bartos said Goldsmith has been charged with commercial burglary and theft.
