Students from Berryville High School were the recipients of $1,000 in scholarships recently. Bob Ahart, Kerusso human resources director, awarded the scholarships on behalf of Vic Kennett, president and founder of Kerusso and a 1981 Eureka Springs High School graduate.
The Kerusso Business and Ministry Scholarship in the amount of $500 was awarded to Aubree Fry of Berryville High School. Each year this scholarship is granted to a student who has kept at least a 3.0 grade point average, been a member of FBLA, FCCLA or FCA with plans to continue their education in business or ministry.
Among Aubree’s numerous achievements and recognitions are Valedictorian, Prom Queen, Homecoming Queen, 2009 “Most likely to Succeed,” 2009 North Central Arkansas Basketball All Star, and 2008 Berryville Chamber of Commerce Youth Ambassador. Aubree plans to attend Ouachita Baptist University and double major in Christian Ministries with an emphasis on youth ministry and Dietetics. This will be an excellent foundation for her dream to impact lives for the cause of Christ.
Another scholarship category, the Kerusso Art Education Scholarship, requires students to have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, excel in their art studies while at Berryville High and have plans to pursue continued education in Fine Arts, Drama, Graphic Design, Music or Architectural Design. This year the scholarship was presented to Corey Divine.
